‘Mum's gone, that's established. Cancer. Two years ago. Brush it under the rug. And Dad's been quietly losing it since.'

Beth wants to borrow a tractor, but she won't say why.

In a political climate where big cities and the regions seem worlds apart, COW looks at individuals who straddle the gulf. Set in rural Devon, Beth is reaching out to a community that is being steadily dismantled.

A disquieting, tragicomic tale with songs, COW is about a girl, a cow and the ways people ask for help.

COW

"a powerful new voice in the UK theatre scene"

"Potent in the themes it focuses on, intimate in its focus, it is equal parts funny and heartbreaking"

"very much of its moment, reflecting the decline of farming since the mid-90s (ravaged by foot-and-mouth and buried by globalisation), the struggles of millennials in an uncaring world, and the prospect of caring for an aging population"

Daily Info, Oxford

"the piece as a whole is beautiful. From an unrepresented part of society telling an unrelenting, honest story, Cow is a treat."

A Younger Theatre

"There is strength in the writing and power in the story being told, of a changing way of life, of grief and the things it does to people."

The Stage

"It is hard not to like a show featuring a large red cow"
